Diana Hacker was a member of the English faculty at Prince George's Community College for nearly 35 years. She had such a tremendous impact on young writers during her tenure as a professor. During this time, she authored A Writer's Reference, the most widely adopted college handbook ever published. Professor Hacker was a faithful contributor to the college and upon her death, bequested that a scholarship be established to help students, particularly those majoring in English, from the ongoing proceeds from her book.
