Dr. Corrie Haines was a faculty member at Prince George's Community College who had recently retired from the college at the time of his death in 2008. Dr. Haines taught history and African American studies for more than ten years. He was deeply committed to the significance of the overall history and culture of African Americans. The Drs. Corrie and Roberta Haines Scholarship is permanently endowed and is awarded for students majoring in African American Studies.
